Hi,

I'm after some advice. My wife drives a 03 mini cooper and during it's recent pit-stop BMW pointed out to me that the Power steering Suction, Pressure and Return hoses are weeping and need replacing. They then suggested how that would cost and I started weeping... £300 + VAT.. Because in true BMW fashion they believe they need to change the entire assembly and it takes about 3 hours to do so. Does anyone give me some "independent" advice on if this is reasonable or not or if I have another cheaper option?

Thanks in advance.

That quote is not far off the mark at a stealer.......You are paying full retail on the parts and the full BMW listed time.

Not sure how much the pipes are but the time given is very generous.I tend to fit them in about 1 to 1.5 hours assuming it is just the high + low pressure pipes. So I would estimate £150/175

Another good reason for going solo
