Hello,

Can anyone give me a rough guide as to what these cars can be picked up for?

ie. 53 plate, 40k miles, blue, fully loaded, FSH and a mini cherished warranty.

Many Thanks

Not that this is at all helpful - but I part-ex'd mine for £12k about 18 months ago!!! It was an 03, nicely spec'd car with about 35k on the clock.

Got to say that it's probably the best car I've ever had. Unbelievable amount of fun, just a great pleasure to drive. Personally I found the interior I bit too quirky for my liking but take that out of the equation and not much else can beat it for the driving thrill.

Make sure you get the Recaros if you can. Had them in the GP I ran for a couple of months at the begininng of the year and they were truly excellent. The seats I had in my standards works were a bit pants to be honest.....

Enjoy it
Cheers
RS

I am getting a 54 plate, works with 38500 for £8000. Private sale. Too many overpriced.

I am glad I sold my JCW when I did... I have never know a car too loose so much cash in a short period. I know of range rovers which have lost less in a year!

This time last year I was looking for a JCW GP - couldnt find one for under 20k. Last night, looked in the autotrader, and there it was - A one owner GP for 14k! Ridiculous.

Just picked it up today and had a nice 150 mile trip back.
It wasnt as fast as I expected when I first drove it but it actually feels better the more I drove it!! strange.

really good condition. Needs a brake fluid chande in 40 days, and a coolant change is due but niether can cost much.
5000 till next oil change and I have a TLC ticket for that.
Only faults are stone chips, crack in a fog light and i cant find the wheel nut key.
Anyone know Where they are kept? (its got run flats so no jack etc)

Open up the boot, lift up the carpet and you should find the battery, wheel nut lives in the same place (small recess for it to sit snugly in).

Reading that back to myself it makes no sense but with it there in front of you it should become clear. Ish.

Oh, regarding it not feeling that quick, the gearing is far faaar faaaaaaar too long imo. My standard S will do .80 leptons in third with 5/700 rpm still to play with. Either that or the air filter is gunked up.

I think in the last 6 months, the prices have been really stable and due to the relative rarity of the JCW in the mini brand, I think its going to hold its value superbly!

Anyway, on an £8k car, the most you can ever lose is £8k, so I can live with that.

The Cooper S Works is not that quick in a straight line but where it comes into its own is the handling and the fun factor around town.

I also have a CSL and in many situations, the JCW is much better and more chuckable.
One thing I have to do is to get rid of the god awful run flats as they make the car quite difficult on bumpy(ish) roads.

Good luck!

Thanks,
Found the wheel nut key. Next to battery in a polystyrene pack.

Car handles really well. More chuckable than my standard M3.
I will check the air filter when the Wife brings it home and if it stops snowing.
Really struggles for grip in this weather!

thanks fella's

The more I drive it the quicker it seems.
Wife wont let me near it now!
Just had an oil and filter done. It says over 5000 miles till service but it just seems too long 20000 between services.

i agree with the above, not a fan of the extended service intervals. I take it to bmw for the offical services, but get the filter and oil changed every 10k. That way I keep full main dealer s/h, but the car gets fresh oil more often.
