The price sounds good - they've come down in price over the last few months. Still, I would expect that price is competative with the official Mini dealers....

It sounds like it's in Dark Silver (grey) with full leather, which is a good colour combination. Probably the best, actually.

It's pre-facelift ('54 plates onwards), so has 163 bhp rather than 170 bhp, but I believe other than the power output and rear lights, the Cooper S didn't change mechanically.

HTH!

If it's got the Chilli pack, I'd be tempted by that one - it'll have half-leather sports-seats and the post facelift fabric looks good and isn't as cold as leather.

The mileage is really good but the price sounds a bit expensive to me. They have really taken a hit (along with most other cars). They are also not the easiest car to sell (which can be seen by the length of time they stay advertised). I would want to pay 8800 - 9000 max. There are a huge number for sale out there so you wont be stuck for choice!!!

I recently passed on a Cooper (not S) 54 reg with 32K miles, full leather, aircon, traction control etc....silver with black roof and dark interior. Nice car, but I wasn't really willing to pay £6900 (as that was the asking price). Personally I agree that the car you mention should be around 8.5k maybe a bit more if you really like it, but again no expert just in relation to what else I have seen.....I saw a 53 Cooper S with 45k miles for £5100 recently as well...prices seem to be all over the place....that one sold quick though....

Yeah, pricing seems all over the place! Some people are in dream world though. I'm after a 2003 Cooper S and don't intend to pay more then £6k at the most. Seen a few people mention getting them for nearer £5k too!
Reading on the mini2 forum even the die hard owners accept they are loosing hundreds each month.
