Long shot...steering wheel question.

If a used Mini Cooper S was bought which didn't have a multi-function steering wheel (radio control and cruise I believe), could a 'Sports Wheel with buttons' be bought from the accessories catalogue and fitted by a dealer to then give these functions...?

Or are there some additional factory fit internal gubbins which are required to make cruise/radio buttons work??

BMW do a retro fit kit, the kit costs about £500 fitted and the ECU needs flashing

I don't think I'll be needing an aftermarket wheel now, think I've just bagged a decent spec car which has one already...
