Best Top Up Oil

I need to top up the oil on my wifes Cooper S Works can anyone recommend what I should be putting in?

fully synthetic 0w30 is recommended

assuming that the last oil change used the correct stuff?

I used Mobil 1 0w40 with no problems

It was serviced at a Bimmer garage so I hope so.
