Picked up our Mini today from Dick Lovett Swindon. After our previous issues we were pleased to find a car we were happy with and are very pleased with it. I'm hoping to prose the keys from the wifes hands tomorrow and actually have a go in it!

It was listed as "Astro Black" but now it's been cleaned properly it seems to almost be a blue/anthracite colour in the sun? Need to get some layers of Zaino on there asap.

Very nice MINI! That interior is the best one I've seen in any MINI. Love it!!!

Looks good - and astro black is very blue in the right light. I had a 2004 cooper from new - under car park lights it did often look very blue.........

Nice one, looks loaded smile

As said Astro black has a blue tinge. The new Midnight black is a pure black metallic.

Cheers. Really liking the Astro Black now, looks awesome in the sunlight.

Not enjoying the runflats at all though. This is the first car I've owned with them and god they really are awful. Not bad from a grip perspective (Not sure what model, something from Dunlop) but the ride is shockingly bad. Every lump and change in road service is transferred to the car. So they won't be getting replaced once worn.

Sat nav isn't too tricky to use, can't get the wifes phone to sync fully with the car though. It's a Samdung though so doesn't seem to be supported 100%? It connects and can dial but just won't sync the contacts list.

Ah another question, DAB, does it EVER get any reception?!

TBH samsungs seem to be problematic with the mini bluetooth systems, really starne as some work fine others wont what so ever. But tbh the samsungs that are listed on the phone matrix are only part compatible. Dab when ive had it in the past ive never had a problem with signal tbh, could be faulty?

The wife isn't too fussed about the phone and is due an upgrade soon so can rectify those problems then. We've been out today and the DAB worked much better in a built up area. We are quite rural so I am guessing the signal is weak.

Lovely MCS, I have to say that the spec is ideal. Tomorrow I pick mine up from Salisbury, again, one the same age of registration of yours.

A question about when you purchased it, due to its age, did they throw in a free MOT before delivery? I know that on a 56 the three years is not up yet. In my case registered in December 2006 so we are in the 3rd year but not out so is an MOT necessary?

It is nice to know that the vehicle has been fully checked over prior to handover and it gives some peace of mind.

Hi Andy,

Yes. The dealer put the car through an MOT prior to us collecting it and also gave us a copy of the full cherished inspection.

I actually got to spend a few hours driving it today and it was surprisingly good fun! It feels very different to my Megane R26. You feel as if you are going a lot faster in the MINI. Played around with the 'sport' button and wasn't too keen on the almost too heavy steering. This may be down to the, slightly over assisted, steering on my Megane though.

Enjoy your car!
