Mini S - Mate is selling...should I buy

Ok...so my wife has wanted a mini for a while

A good friend of mine is selling his Mini S...2002 with around 40k is on the clock. Unsure what spec it is but has aircon, sunroof etc but no SatNav. It is really well looked after & he wants £5,500 for it. Dont want to fleece him...just want a sensible price for us both

Is this good value? Does age make this a worry?

Does anything go wrong with these cars? I know he has had to have sunroof replaced, and just spent some money of changing radiator I think. Anything else to be warry of?

Doesn't seem that bad a price for it, but all depends on the full spec, colour and condition.

Not really many thngs to watch out for on the MCS, gearbox is pretty solid and engine too.

Sounds a very fair price for a car of that age. I'd drive it and if you like it buy it!

Colour is Grey with black leather, panaoramic sunroof, upgraded alloys , DCS (?) & generally well specified. Think the pack is has is Chilli pack? Just had service as well...and in top condition inside & out

So...looks like I should just buy it? Worth £5.5k?

IMO, he could prob get the 5.5k quite easily, maybe even 6. I'd say it's fair.
