New Mini Cabriolet
Discussion
Hi, thinking of buying a new Cooper Cabrio but have no experience of Minis at all. Has anyone got the new Cabrio? Also, am a little overwhelmed by colour choices - would a metallic black Cooper Cabrio be a good choice in terms of resale etc? Have not got an unlimited budget so was going to pay extra for exterior chrome but otherwise go for the standard package. Thoughts would be appreciated.

Hi,
They're great little cars, black should be fine at resale, as long as you get the black hood and 17" wheels with it too. Also, i would strongly recommend you buy the Chili pack, as the standard kit is the Pepper pack which comes with the worst steering wheel in the world!
Hope that helps.

The new cabrio is still very much an unknown with it being so new.
Personally I would wait until its been on the market for 12months and all bugs are worked out, especially considering the last convertible had loads of roof issues which had costly repairs attached to them.
My old MCSC JCW had 4 fabrics over 2 years, 3 for wear issues and 1 for the exploding window issue and complete roof mech rework also, so I'd not want to get burnt again.
However, the Convertible is a complete hoot to own and drive, but the issues did spoil the ownership experience for me last time

We've had our new Convertible for 2 months now and are lovin' it!
It isn't the quietest cars inside, it always sounds like a back windows open when the hood's up - but that's just the cloth hood!
Pleased to say the weather has been resonably kind since we got it, but do get the wind deflector - it's a must to stop the back-draft!
Colour is always a personal choice, but White with the brown roof looks good IMO. (We've got Dark Silver - with black)

I was told at the weekend that some of the new convertibles are already showing the starting signs of roof wear, due to how tightly packed it is when folded down.
Not seen any myself just yet, but if you want to know more go over to www.totalmini.com and speak to Jon
