Engine overheat warning comes on very early...why?!?

Hi guys

The orange curly overheat warning light comes on very early - if she's been standing in traffic for just 10 minutes or so. I never used to do this. Any ideas?

Are your cooling fans working? Common fault on the Cooper S.
