I'd appreciate some guidance on the value of a 2006 56 Cooper S with 34,000 miles. It has a good spec with part leather, chilli, TLC until 2011, xenons, bullet alloys, grey with black roof and chrome mirrors. If you were a perfectionist you'd refurbish the alloys, but apart from that the car is in really good condition - valeted weekly etc etc. I'll probably extend the warranty for a further year as well.
Prices seem to vary massively and before I advertise I want to get thoughts on the value. I'm in no major hurry, but plan to change to a Mk 2
Thanks

Depending on the spec and condition, I'd put it up for 12k and see what you get. Probably worth a bit less than that though.

Have you driven the Mk2 (R56)? Make sure you prefer it before you go selling your current car, IMHO the handling in your car will be vastly superior to the latest model.

He's right btw!!!
I own a '54 plate MCS and was giving a new model one as a courtesy car and imho, the older model is LEAGUES ahead in the handling department!!!

IMHO
£11k and over takes you into dealer prices.
£10K - £11K dips you under their prices.
£12K is optimistic.
I would say the most confusing price point is the 02/03 era - there can be 2 or 3 K between cars !
I am trying to find a good Cooper S. There is an 06 car in Parkway in Derby for under £11K. So for me your car would need to be nearer £10K.
A friend of mine part exd her 2 yr old Cooper S and only got £8.5k from a dealer ! (I think it was 2 yrs old!).

That confuses me. Kerbed alloys and valeted weekly? If you care enough to valet the car, why not get the alloys done? I drive a co. car and kerbed a wheel 6 months ago but paid for it to be done myself to keep the car looking good.

Fair point. I brought the car 6 months ago as a station car, and fully intended to refurbish the alloys. Time passes you by and other things take priority. I am now not in London daily hence why I intend to spend more money on a car.
