Fitting tow bar to Cooper?
Discussion
Morning all.
I have been looking at various options for carrying 2 mountain bikes on my Cooper, and am not keen on roof bars (holes have to be drilled), a rear mount (cannot be used with the Cooper spoiler and there is contact with the bumper and body work). So I think the best solution is using a Thule platform style rack which attaches to the tow bar.
However, MINI are quoting £390 just for parts alone for a tow bar which I think is extortionate! So, do I have to use a MINI part? Can anyone point me towards another supplier/options for this?
Thanks guys
Gav

There are many solutions for a bog standard cooper a quick google search will provide you with quite a few, I have an S works and use a "mini do more" system which is probably £400+ to the UK
I have seen the cooper tow bars going for around £150 on average but remember that your car is CAN BUS so you will need a specific relay / power supply
