Afternoon

Is there a new Mini due any time soon, or any new engines?

As I’m toying with the idea of a Cooper as a cheap (on tax) company car.

It’s reasonable at the minute but its still 129 CO2’s.

Cheers

Not that I know of.

I have a Cooper Clubman <petrol> as a co car, highly recommend it. Have avg'd over 43mpg over 23k in 12months.

As the new new Mini came on stream at the end of '06 and the old one was only replaced because of the pedestrian safety regulations or it would have got 2-3 more years according to BMW, I don't think we'll see a new new new Mini anytime soon. There's talk about a hot diesel version using the 2 litre BMW lump, though, and now that the Alfa Mito has the Multi-Air engines I think BMW may put the 150 or 156 bhp 1.6 THP engine in a Cooper some time, giving a good balance between performance and CO2 output/running costs (the Cooper S sits at 149 g/km; one of the reasons it's a whopping 200 euro/month dearer to lease for me and it falls outside the 116-140 g/km 'intermediate' company car tax band here, too)?

I'm running a Cooper company car (08) and it's bl00dy excellent. smile
