Dechroming R56 Mini

Has anybody done this and could share some pearls of wisdom?

I am stuck between having the chrome bit painted up "properly" by a bodyshop OR option 2 is now to have them vinyl wrapped. Having spoken to both providers, they obviously are fighting their own corners i.e vinyl more durable vs better finish on paint vs can change mind with vinyl etc etc.

Truth be told, I'm not really bothered by resale issues or reversibility but just want the best result. Heart says paint but not 100% convinced!

Anybody else care to give me some advice?

BTW I would be going for a full dechrome i.e headlamp surrounds/handles/scuttles/fuel filler cap/body line under windows.

Done all of mine and it was with paint looks good. I wouldn't bother with the decals as they never look as good as paint, they are close but clearly not.

You may want to do a joey mod to the headlights too as painting the rings can make it look like it has black eyes / panda eyes
