low revs high gear guttering (mis fire?)

Hi, just bought a 04' full JCW cooper S ,including engine,aero kit, AP racing brake upgrade and Hartge wheel's, buckets etc. 
All is well apart from when the car is in a high gear say 4th at a low rev's the engine kind of mis-fire's or
hold's back its hard to explain, I have to add this is under full accelaration, its fine when given beans in right gear.
My question is, is this normal thing for a 1.6 super charged engine or have i got a problem. It also does this say in 5th or 6th again
with low revs and i put the accelarator too the floor.
Ps. I had the temp sensor's x2 changed already.
