R56 Cooper S owners....
Discussion
How does your steering feel? Mine was in the other day for the dreaded cold start rattle and I was given a completely boggo ONE. It was painfully slow but I have to say it had far more steering feel than mine does, it felt a bit more weighty too which is suprising considering we have the sport button for that. They had a quick look but could find nothing wrong - could it just be the difference in the wheels and tyres? mine runs 17' run flats - I think these were 15's and maybe not?! or, as the new steering system in the R56 is fully electric could I just need the servos adjusting?
I own an R56 Cooper without a sport button and have driven a few R56 S's. I might be completely wrong on this and they might be set up identically but I personally find the S to be much less responsive with the sport button off to my Cooper, both the steering and more so the throttle response.
I've come to the conclusion that to make the sport button appear to do something they've configured the throttle and steering to be almost excessively unresponsive with the button off and then almost a bit too twitchy and a bit too all or nothing with the button on. I think the cars without sport buttons come with a much more rounded and useable configuration for the majority of situations.

Its the rattle that caused me to get rid of mine nearly 2 years ago, that car was built from paper!
But on the steering front I agree with the sport button comment, but the thing that made mine much better was to shift from 17s with run flats to 16s with proper tyres. It transformed the car, much much better. I cringe now when I see any mini with 17s+, the steering was dreadful!
