Afternoon,

Earlier this morning when returning home about 5 minutes from the door, I encountered a deer. Thankfully the damage is not much and it appears to be limited to the housing of the passenger side bixenon housing/lens and a crack in the bumper. Thankfully it was not a square on impact as I managed to kind of turn out of the way as soon as i saw the figure appear from the left. Stopped soon after but the deer kind of limped away not to be seen again.

With the outer cover of the bixenon with a big whole (all lights still work) I now need to perhaps replace the whole housing unit from what I can see. Am I correct in thinking that the housing of the bixenon lamp can be replaced or does the whole unit have to be changed? This is all taking in to account that the washer is part of the headlamp.

Is this a job that I can do at home? I have looked at it and from what I can see there are three supporting screws that hold the unit in place; all of which are easily got to without much taking apart. Has anybody done this replacement themselves? How did it go and what was the cost of the headlamp casing for a bixinon headlamp, What could I expect to pay?

Thanks in advance,

Andy
