Afternoon all,

Looking to change my RF's on my '01 Cooper soon, and wondered what everyone recommends tyre wise?

My wheels are 195/55/R16s, and looking for something that doesn't tramline and grips when I want to go round a corner

Thanks in advance biggrin

I have Avon ZV5's on mine in that size, grip seems to be just as good as the Toyos TR1's I had before with no tramlining at all. Cheap tire too compared to some.

I have been happy with Toyo T1R. Then again I have them already on the TVR and they perform well.

Another vote for the T1R here. I'm just about to replace my front two with the same again. The only downside is that they're now getting slightly expensive, given what they used to cost.

Dumbass question but...

If one switches to non-runflats, then presumably you need to carry some 'gunk' to seal punctures and a pump, right?

the pump is a luxury, the can should inflate the tyre. You should get a warning from the sensors if you get a puncture so watch out for the warning light as though you had run flats. The sensor looks for changes in tyre parameters..

_____

i have got falken ze912s on front. similar to the avons i think.

good value option. i like the bridgestone re040 but i wanted to try out something gypo and i must admit they're near enough for half price.
