How quick is your MCS?

Hi folks,
as per title, it may seem like a weird question but, just how quick is your standard mcs (r56)?!
Let me explain....
A good friend has an 07 Focus ST with a bluefin remap, running on tesco 99 fuel. This is supposed to be 270bhp and 320lb ft of torque. Te other day (on a private strip) we took our standard r56 mcs and the focus for a good drive in tandem. To my amazement up to 90mph there is nothing in it at all, and I mean nothing! On b roads etc they were identical!?
Looking at the figures pre remap the mini would have it's work cut out as it is?
I would say we are of equal (pretty good) driving ability and same fuel in both, is out car standard OR are mcs' quicker than I gave it credit for?
