Air Con died... Where do i get a new unit from... £1000 from
Discussion
aircon regas should only be around £40.
find a local a/c person, get it tested to find out what it is, they will charge you for a regas and tell you what it is. Then when it comes to fixing/fitting you will get a discount on the next gas.
It will be one of the following;
could be pump (compressor)
could be radiator (condensor) * most likely and quite common
or it could just be a pipe.
Radiators are around £130 new eg from your local motor factor.
If you are very unlucky and it is the pump buy one second hand and get your local a/c people to fit it.
If its just the radiator you are looking at a bill of under £200.

BMW tested it and regassed it, the told me that it was the shop Air conditioning unit that had died. Where can i get a used or new on from other than the dealer?

I had need for some original parts for my Cooper S after a deer stricke and an impending MOT.
Called Mini spares UK, they are based in Yorkshire. Very good service new original part for 50% of the BMW price with next day delivery. They also have a mini breakers yard so sourcing used parts should be ok.
Hope they can help.
