Thinking of going for a new mini cooper S. How do regular owners of minis find the rear seats for short trip passengers carrying please ? I know it's not huge but open to sharing comments. TIA.

I have three kids and to be honest thats all it is good for if you are over 5'8 I am 5'11 and with my seat as far forward as I can and still drive there is no room in the back. Lucky ours is a secound fun car. Best bet try it out yourself

I have no problems getting people in the back of mine rofl

Seriously though, there's not that much space in the back seats. Ok for short journeys or kids, but I wouldn't want to be stuck there for too long behind a tall driver.

We've got a clubman and have no problem with three girls in the rear aged 6, 8 and 10.

If you are concerned about rear space, might be an option.

I don't have a MINI, but I think the answer will depend on who will be using the back seats, how often and what is a short journey. And all importantly if it's actually an issue or concern to you personally?

For me I've run a lot of 2+2 coupes. Back seat space is limited, but usable. I suspect a MINI or even a Fiat 500 are very similar in this respect.

I used to have one and I have to say that, once people were in the back it was reasonably spacious but getting them in there, past the passengers seat, was a bit of a squeeze. Overall I would say it was ok.

I'm 5ft 6' and I find the R56 bearable on journeys up to about an hour. Worse than the seat is the drone, gives me the worst headache, and the 17 inch wheels + Sports Suspension don't improve matters. In saying that, my R50 Cooper on RFs and SS+ is far far worse! hehe

In a word tight.. Sometimes use ours to carry around a few 11 year boys and there is not a lot of space with me in the front. Ok for 20 mins, but not much more.

We only got a Mini as we already have a family car. I would not want to put anyone with legs in the back to be honest.

It is possible to do trips as long as you're ok with moving a little closer than usual. A couple of times (brighton to essex the longest) I've had 3 mates in mine with me being the shortest at 6'.
Next week we are going to Cornwall and the same guys want to go in my car again, I have no idea why, coilovers and cramped backs of cars can't be fun but I don't mind taking it around all the windy roads if needs must.
