Mini one convertible 04 roof only opens the sunroof

Just Started having problem with roof recently had the cables changed and all has worked fine however today the roof will only open the halfway/ sunroof distance and stops, I checked the senser off the parcel shelf was being pushed down which it was it doesnt make sense any ideas what to do aprt from push it off a cliff !! Any help would be appreciated

Hiya

Ours occasionally plays up also, I find if you open the boot, raise the roof from the rear releasing the 2 big levers and then close it again tightly it tends to cure it but if anything at all is pushing the parcel shelf up slighlty it wont work.

Also it sometimes takes just pushing the button a couple of times open and close and it works.

Hi Thanks for that yes I know about the switch under the parcel shelf it wasnt that, we found out in the end that it looks like something/somebody had sat on the roof and bent one of the bars that goes across which was stopping the roof completely going back luckily it was straightened and is fine now, we just spent £400 on new cables a latches (BMW wanted 2.5K !!!)
