MINI Required for PPC Magazine Photoshoot
Discussion
Hi all,
Practical Performance Car Magazine are going to be running a buying guide on the 1st generation of new MINI in the next few months, and we are looking for a car to use in the studio photoshoot to accompany the feature.
Would anyone be interested in bringing their 1st-gen car along for the shoot? The studio is in Derby, and the date will be this coming Thursday 9th September (approx 9am-12:30pm).
Ideally we'd like a Cooper or Cooper S in a bright colour if possible, but it is fairly flexible. The car would need to be relatively clean and standard, however the odd typical mod isn't really a problem!
Please let me know as soon as possible if you are interested in attending, a copy of the photos will also be available to the owner afterwards.
Many thanks in advance,
James Winstanley

Bugger i'm well out of the running for this.
I don't suppose a 240bhp Cooper S features as common mods does it
apart from the brembos you'd never know

Out of curiosity how much work has it taken to get 240bhp chief? I'm guessing 15 or 19% reduction pulley, exhaust / decat, mapping? Is it cam change territory or...I don't suppose a 240bhp Cooper S features as common mods does it

I'm quite tempted to get one, just wondering what's possible

Currently it's 440cc injectors, full stainless exhauist +4-1 manifold, 17% pulley, bigger intercooler and a s
t hot map. With a good head and cam you can see 320, with a cam alone, 280 isn't a problem. Then i've also got brembo 4pots with 328mm 2 piece discs, oz ultraleggera HLTs and a JCW aerokit.

Any idea of what head and cam combo this is? The most powerful I'm aware of are around the 280-290ish mark, these will have uprated pistons, rods, head, uprated intercooler or chargecooler, cam, tune and pulley. They're mods off the top of my head. Also as far as I know there isn't an R53 running anymore than 290bhp WITHOUT changing the supercharger for Turbo or something else...

Blimey, didn't realise they were good for 280+ bhp. That sounds like fun
Yes, but it'll cost you
And much more than that is basically impossible with the M45 supercharger, without NOS.With some fairly cheap mods you can easily get to 220-230ish, which is quite fun and will surprise some "faster" cars
More than that and you'll need to uprate injectors, cam etc.Edited by hyperblue on Tuesday 7th September 19:46
