Hey everyone,
Have just been to local mini garage looking for second car. They have a 2006 s, 40000 miles with chili pack for £11000. Was initially looking for a more sensible one/Cooper but the s was a great drive. Just wondering if this looks good value? A quick search through the classifieds seemed to show comparable cars in that price bracket......

Depends if it is a Mk1 or Mk2 2006 (big speedo and turbo rather than the supercharger) - either way it is expensive to what I just bought for the missus. If it is a Mk1, I would not be paying more than 9k at those miles. If Mk2, them maybe a little more than 9 but nowhere near that asking price.
I just picked up (today) am unmarked Mark 2 MCS 6 speed, 28000 miles, 56 reg (December 06), one lady owner, full BMW history, complete with chili, sport, TLC, mood lighting etc and the dealer was asking less than 10k. Deal came with a 3 year AA 5* warrantee including the extended cover for big lumps like turbo etc (which are normally options).
Wife is happy - and I reckon that was a reasonable deal given the dreamer prices in the classifieds - especially at the Mini Cherished dealerships. We did the tour of the outrageous Cherished dealers to find there are equally good cars at other places at more sensible prices with full BMW histories.
There's plenty out there that will need to be sold if your dealer will not move on what seems to be a hefty price. Buy with your head not your heart.
ETA: and a full service, 4 new tyres and an MOT to boot...
