Higher Mileage Checkmate Cooper S - Things to consider?
Discussion
Hi,
Found a good condition Cooper S Checkmate on an '06 plate at a local Mini Dealer. It's had 2 owners, done nearly 69K miles. Took it out for a drive, no timing chain rattle, or steering noises (did have the nice supercharger noise though!). Seemed pretty solid and well put together. It seems to have an extended TLC package on it, and was informed that this would pay for the next service.
It's up for just shy of 8K (Dealer prices) but got a decent offer on my PX (swings and roundabouts).
Anything serious to consider at these miles?
Charger belts?
Clutch?
Flywheel?
AC recharge?
I'm assuming that the Mini dealer should be able to get full history of when (if) parts have been replaced?
How do R53's handle higher miles generally?
Thanks
Steven
