I thought I would start a new thread for people to post walks that they have done round our fine county.

First up.

Lyveden Way - I did this yesterday, it was great!

This is Pistonheads and you expect us to walk?!

Seriously, your thread is a good idea. If we can't suggest a walk, it might get some of us out there exploring instead.

Brampton Valley Way, runs Market Harboro to Northampton.
Not usually too muddy as its old railway bed.
(Incredibly muddy if you take one of the other paths off it and fall down a hill, as did last week!).
Two huge dark tunnels to go through too.
Nice pub for lunch at Brampton holt.

tenfoot walk, circular round northampton, 50ish miles
Plan to try and do this over one of the bank holiday weekends with my son this year, overnighting in either a pub, or a tent. Any interest?

LOL.

We live in such a beautiful county, you can learn so much by exploring it on foot.

I plan to walk from Loddington to Lamport, visiting Faxton and Draughton along the way next week.

We're off around Bucknell Woods (near Silverstone) later this weekend - counting birds as we go for the BTO Bird Atlas.

Recommend Salcey Forest for walks, good for beginners, but with different lenght paths good for a more strenuous walk too.

Weather today it would be fab, but I'm housebound after an op. at the moment, so can't get out to enjoy it with the family, otherwise we'd be down there.

Did this today, great weather for walking, clear sky, reasonably firm under foot and I got back just before it went dark.

Visited the site of the old village of Faxton, all that remains are the church yard including a font and a couple of tomb stones.

I visited Faxton late last year - amazing place stuck in the middle of a field - not the sort of place you'd stumble across accidentally!
