Fair play to him, I know he has had a few injury worries and I'm sure he wants to spend summer recovering and getting a decent preseason under his belt.

Hopefully will come back a stronger keeper because of it and cement his place in the England squad.

I can understand it in his case he's only ever going to get the odd half in a friendly for experience...as long as Hart is fit he'll never play competitive football for England. Does he really want to spend his time sitting on a bench for the next five or ten years ?
