VdP is going to the olympics with a clear plan to win the mtb xc race so I doubt he’ll finish the tour, if he does, he may not contest all the bunch sprints and choose to lead out Merlier. Ewen must be favourite for green but Colbrelli and van Aert will push him, the latter picking up points on sprint and rolling stages

Pog or Rog are probably the favourites but Ineos have four GC options and domestiques who would be GC riders in most other teams.... despite that I think it’s going to be a good race and quite open.

There’s a PH fantasy league going if anyone is keen.

MvdP's main priority is the MTB XCO race in Toyko, and has been for the last 3-4 years. If it was up to him, he wouldn't be doing the Tour, but appreciates it's important to his team/sponsors. He'll leave the race after 10-12 days....otherwise he'll be leaving his medal chances on the roads of France.

I know it's a bit of a long shot, but really hoping Cav can win a stage - probably his last chance in the tour, would be great to go out with a win!

Well two mouthwatering stages to kick off the tour, the good thing with these lumpy stages is that it draws the GC contenders in as well as the riders looking for the stage win.
