New Ski/Hike/Mountain Waterproof jacket/shell?
Discussion
My old Arcteryx Jacket is finally giving up, I've had it reseamed a couple of years ago but all sorts of bits are going and giving way, I got it as a freebie over 13 years ago and have used it for skiing, hiking, mountaineering and walking the dog when it pi$$es down.
So what to replace it with? I want a Gore Tex jacket, with a hood that will go over a ski helmet, but with a cut suitable for hiking in the hills as well as for skiing/ski touring
Arcteryx seem pricey (but then my last jacket lasted over a decade). I've had a quick look at Montane & Rab online, loads more brands out there, so can anyone recommend a brand/model that could meet my needs to help whittle down the choices?

Got a Montane Ajax from sports shoes and would get what the equivalent is now. It is goretex pro and was a bargain at the time.
It weighs 500g and wanted something I could pack into my backpack. My set up including tent, tent floor mat, food and water is about 10kg.
Do lust after the Keela Munro though

Having a look at the Montane Phase XT, looks not bad and a few offers about.
I also have an old Keela, and am looking for more of single layer (even if it is numerous layers pressed together) rather than the Keela approach, although my Keela jacket is probably 15-16 years old (another freebie) and still doing ok given the battering it has taken!
