Here go again. Just checked the schedule and the first game is Thursday 5th February. Are the organisers mad??

I see a Friday game in there too!

Anyway, my (usually incorrect!) predictions are:

- England will top the table and probably pick up the GS, I ll call it now I also see them winning the RWC.

- we (wales) will pick up the wooden spoon with a thoroughly miserable campaign losing every game along the way. The only thing that will make it sweet are the beers we ll consume and the odd bit of LRZ flair if fit.

- the rest will just fall in between picking up losses along the way

England (grudgingly)

France (coin toss really might come down to the Fra v Eng game on the final weekend)

Ireland (rebuilding, lot of the old guard not quite as good)

Scotland (flatter to deceive as usual, one big result and 4 poor performances, hopefully the end of Townsend)

Italy (coin toss with Scotland, like Fra and Eng might come down to result in Rome on the first weekend)

Wales (sad to see such a great rugby nation brought so low but little in the Autumn suggests light on the horizon)

The English natives amongst us may not be quite so positive of a GS or even a championship; although our forwards have become quite a unit I still see France as favourites. We look a bit thin on prop options atm with quite a few injuries and we’re still feeling our way into our best back line.

Personally I think Italy will trouble a few teams this year.

I’m off to the Stadio Olimpico but don’t have any home tickets yet; I may not bother given the prices.

I can confidently predict that it will be won by England, France or Ireland. There may or may not be a GS.

I'll put it out there.......

Scotland last, can happen if Italy are up for it in Rome, and they don't generally do well in Cardiff.

Just can’t see that, your back line is very well sorted and a danger especially when you have England at home.

Afraid wales are just so weak now I can’t see them beating Scotland - talent and confidence are all in your favour. Warriors in good form at the moment.

And that's the bullseye.

Sigh. I'll be in Cardiff for the usual heart failure.

As a Welsh fan, this is going to yet another painful 6N. The WRU seem to be intent on destroying the game in Wales right now and we are even at the stage where just a few weeks before the tournament starts, less than half the coaching and support roles for the national team have been filled.

For the rest of the tournament, I can't see past England for it myself. They are looking so strong and Ireland and France are looking OK, but both have vulnerabilities.

Having said that, with my nostradamus like abilities, it'll be probably be a GS for Italy...

They are great hosts. A brilliant weekend potentially ruined by Wales suddenly becoming world class dragons again or being allowed to by Scotland. I'm grateful for WRU working hard to ruin their game and help us out though hehe

I hate saying it but is this the year England click again at Murrayfield and give Scotland a slap in their own hoose?

I'm ambivalent on the quality of Welsh hospitality, I've a had a few grim experiences with people trying to be confrontational for no reason whatsoever recently, perhaps there's been a bleed of football type supporters into the rugby crowd? Still, I go every other year.

Their team is at a low ebb, but they always seem to find sufficient threat against us to conjure something up - they know we've got defensive frailties and a tendency to seize defeat from the jaws of victory, and are good at exploiting that. I always fear them and our overall record is poor.

I expect the Murrayfield scenario you describe. Doesn't seem all that long ago that English chests were being beaten in wild agony over their team, and here we are with them a major world power again all of a sudden. Fair play, I enjoy watching them, but I do think they'll have more than enough against us this year. Hope I'm wrong.

Yeah, get that. I had my opinion tainted by the football side a bit.

Fabian Galthie drops Allritt, Fickou and Penaud from his 6N squad.

I’m stunned. Great players.
