I've got the BBC open on my desktop, and am partaking in a variety of sledging around the office - cracking fun. Some of the t-shirts at www.cricket365.com have made for great e-mail responses.
Aus 346/3 and the papers are (typically) running headlines like "Pontin Flays England" and "Brittle England". That's before our chaps even go into bat. If it's a decent batting wicket, then who knows what could happen?
Okay, the Aussies are likely to lose the match with a score like that, but it certainly doesn't mean that the entire series is lost, as some may suggest

Though most of the time we just point to the scoreboard and let the results do the talking.....
Can't believe they went with Giles & Jones over Panesar & Read - two statistical makeweights over two players of real ability. It conveys a real conservative, negative attitude that psychologically plays into Aussie hands IMHO.
Also if Harmy's injured - I'd say we're pretty much f*cked- Freddy can't take the Aussie heads off on his own.

Oh and the Ashes
Im depressed already. I watched the first 5 overs and turned the tv off, safe in the knowledge we were fubar'd. I nipped for a drink around 2-3am ish and was pleasently suprised to see them at 142-2 and I thought OK, so its roughly equal with the Aussies just having their noses in front. 150-3 would have been dead on and 150-4 would have put us in front. You always have to remember the old cricket philosophy of looking at any score with a further loss of 2 more wickets. Unfortunately I then put the tv back on at 7am and saw the score. I have to say I wasnt massively suprised.
Harmy's first ball is going to go down in Ashes history.
