Having hated them since the C*ntona incident, I have decided to 'take one for the team' and I am proud to declare that Manchester United are now my official second team. I will be supporting them in the Premiership during 2008/9, on the basis that my support works as 'King Midas in reverse' and it therefore guarantees that they won't win anything. wink

I know this will be appreciated by all non-united fans, and I feel I really have no choice. rolleyes

Surely you can only support a club by going to the games and cheering them on whilst wearing their merchandise.
Watching a game on the TV and hoping they win is supporting how exactly.

Indeed Chrispy, that does generally apply to proper fans. However, (and maybe I wasnt being obviously sarcastic enough) I am joining the legions of Manchester United "fans" who simply say that they support 'United', because if I do so clearly they are going to start losing, just the same as my preferred club Crystal Palace...

Of course you could argue that those watching on TV are responsible for the huge increase in TV revenue clubs recieve...
