what was that t**t barton thinking about when he launched into that tackle on nasri? it was lovely to see that off the ball retaliation though, and for that muppet keegan to bleat on about nasri slicing barton down and saying nasri should have been sent off was priceless.mind you if the smirking little st had done it to me,i would have been sent off for stamping on his head!

Not defending Barton at all, but he did win the ball, and Nasri carried on through onto Bartons studs.

He was a prick for smiling about it though.

yes

Ignoring all the circumstances of whether he should or shouldn't be on the pitch, he was on it.

There was nothing wrong with his tackle on Nasri, but Nasri taking revenge afterwards was wrong. Many others (Beckham, Rooney to name but two) have seen red for off-the ball incidents or attempts to take their own revenge, and so should Nasri have done.

Barton (if he isn't banned) will have a difficult year. Every ground he plays at (probably including St James's) is going to be full of supporters trying to boo him off the park. Meanwhile the other teams are going to be full of Nasri's that are trying their best to rile him up and get him to red card himself through some stupid out burst or bad challenge.
The players shouldn't be the ones dishing out the law though, and anyone who deliberately sets out to hack Barton down, injure him etc is no better than him.

The tackle on Nasri was more a response to the boo's he got as he came on.

Personally I though it was a rash decision on his behalf to jump in like that, and had he mistimed it, he could of seen his first red of the season.

Mate had a couple of spare tickets to the game at the Emirates and tbh booing this waste of space was the only chant I could get involved in!

He is scum, simple as that, and he has proved it time and time again. Being a Liverpool fan I have great respect for Kevin Keegan in general but totally disagree with the support he has shown Barton. He hasn't made a couple of mistakes then learnt, he just goes from problem to problem, after the cowardly scrap with Dabo he then gets into a fight in Liverpool city centre.

If the likes of Mutu had their contracts terminated for cocaine use then surely Newcastle should have had the balls to get rid of him too.
