Christiano Ronaldo

Is it just me or does anyone else wish he had been sold to Real Madrid to be 'found out'
A contreversial thought - however, i think he goes missing on the big stage and would not have been the superstar he thinks in the spanish league. I also think utd may regret not selling him this season.
By the way i am not from Manchester, have no family in Manchester - actually i have no link to Manchester at all... so i am a Man Utd fan.

Much as I hate to say it, I don't buy that. Deservedly the Player of the Year last year, and by a big margin.
Edit to add: He's only still at Man U under duress, that much is obvious. He'll be hightailing it to Madrid as soon as he possibly can.
Anyone who cannot see that fact is blind....

Based on the Premiership i would agree - by far the best player.
In terms of champions league and european championships - for me, a no show.
My monies on him going to Man City... alongside Torres.. and Fabregas... And Berbatov And...
Or maybe not.
I can see this going in a very similar direction as another topic ongoing just now.

doesnt show in europe? apart from scoring in the champions league final of course!!If you want an example of a bottler look at Torres only 4 goals away from Anfailed.
I bet he is absolutely hating being at United, in his mansion in cheshire living with his friends and family, hating the fact that his good friends rooney, nani and anderson play with him
Hating the fact that he plays for the champions league winners and the biggest club in the world.

I genuinely don't know what's funnier.
Your blinding loyalty to someone who can't wait to leave your club, or the fact you think he'd rather live in cheshire than sunny Madrid

no blinding loyalty, just very grateful for what he has done for us and when he leaves as he eventually will then I will wish him all the best.Your blinding loyalty to someone who can't wait to leave your club, or the fact you think he'd rather live in cheshire than sunny Madrid

Strangely enough id rather live in Cheshire than Madrid, Barcelona on the other hand.........
If it makes you feel better thinking that he cant wait to leave, you keep on thinking it, we will just be happy when he helps us to another CL victory in Rome

I thought Drogba played better in the last 5mins of extra time than Ronaldo played the whole game.
As a ManUtd fan, surely whats important is whether Ronaldo staying is good or bad for the club? who care whether he is "found out", if he bottles in big matches and all that crap.
I'm personally overjoyed that he is staying, we are stronger with him than without, as should be blatantly obvious from the number of goals scored so far this season. I dont think there will be any issues regarding his attitude, the boy loves to play and he wants to win, I cant see him becoming a sulk,
As for the future, who knows? Maybe Fergie agreed something as part of getting Ronnie to stay, will Calderon be at Real next season? what chance do they have of getting out of their CL qualifying group? If 2009 is SAF's last season, maybe they will agree a last hurrah for Fergie and Ronaldo will stay, particularly so if we win something thsi season. For my money, I reckon Ronaldo will be at ManUtd come the start of the 2009 season, then I suspect afterwards it will depend on who the next manager is. Can I see Ronaldo staying until he is 29+, I suspect unlikely but who knows, as a fan I can stay optimistic!
The other aspect is can we staying a winning team, with ManCity and Chelsea around, we need to plan £50M per year to stay competitive. If Glazers decide to take a breather for a year or two, will we be competitive? If not, it gets harder to get and to keep top players.

"bottler" Torres won Euro 2008 for his team. Not to mention practically dragging Liverpool to the semi's of Champions League. Speaking of which, I think you'll find he scored a good few goals away from Anfield, just not that many in the EPL.

You wont have to wait too long by the looks of it....either for City to take over or for Ronaldo to go. Unbelievable how old red nose spent all summer moaning about Real Madrid and then drove to the Airport and picked up a player he had no permission to talk to, eventually forcing Spurs hand. If Madrid did this with Ronaldo he'd be going mental.
What stinks even more is that Spurs allowed themselves to bribed out of reporting United to the Premier league. No suprise in that they also did this when Chelsea poached Frank Arnesen.
He'll go in the January transfer window or in the Summer whatever the deluded bloke above thinks.
And for the record Real Madrid are the biggest club in the world both financially and in terms of success, not Man Utd. The figures are there for everyone to see.

I do wish you'd stop stating this fib VR - only United supporters believe it.

I think he's only joined to post b
ks about United. Last night's gem was him s
gging off a Porsche 996 owner only to reveal he drives his girlfriends Mini and used to own a C4S. More like a Sinclair C5. 2/1 the bloke is really 15, never been to United, lives in Surrey and only gets to post when he's done his homework.
On that basis I think we should ignore him from now on get back to sensible debate and banter. As far I'm concerned he does the decent United fans on here a disservice by going on every thread waffling on about how everyone's club is crap and United are the greatest.
Funny, but there was no-one like him around when I started going to football as United were total cr@p at the time languishing in the second division, mind you if he was around then he was following Liverpool.........

Another fool who believes SSN, we always did have permission to speak to him it was granted in the morning. Spurs did exactly the same with Ramos and more recently with Bostock at Palace, unfortnately there is a food chain and we are at the very top of it.What stinks even more is that Spurs allowed themselves to bribed out of reporting United to the Premier league. Ronaldo will almost certainly start the next season with us but if he doesnt there will be life after him like RVN, Keane, Beckham, Cantona et al
United are the biggest team in the world financially, by amount of supporters and by recognition of brand. Deal with it my cockney chum.
