US swimming star Michael Phelps has admitted to "regrettable behaviour", after a UK newspaper published a photo of him apparently smoking cannabis.

Phelps, 23, who won eight gold medals at the Beijing Olympics last year, was pictured by the News of the World inhaling from a glass pipe.

At least I dont think theres anyway you could argue that it was performance enhancing in anyway unless hes an olympic sitting around champion

Actually, that's not true, kind of, I think....

Olympic gold medalist swimmer Michael Phelps was sentenced to 18 months probation Wednesday after pleading guilty to drunken driving..... In return for Phelps' guilty plea to driving while impaired, prosecutors agreed to drop charges of driving under the influence, underage drinking and failure to stop at a stop sign.

After all it isn't illegal everywhere in America, not sure about in Carolina though.
