I see one of the stewards was knocked out in the stramash after he scored & had to be taken to hospital.
That bating of the Arsenal fans and the appauling studs down the face incident should get him a ban hopefully. Van Persie could have lost an eye.
Not that a ban is really an effective punishment though - surely these bega-bucks players will just treat a ban as a holiday? What is a better way to punish the player and not the team? Tell the team not to pay him another penny in wages for the rest of the season IMO.

The stamp was awful and deserving if a ban.
The celebration? Sorry, but the villains of the piece here are the Arsenal fans. If they can't watch him celebrate scoring a goal in front of them without losing the plot and throwing stuff then they should be banned form football grounds permanently.

I'm an Arsenal fan and have to agree with all of this, hopefully he'll get a minimum 2 or 3 match ban for the studding. But the fans in the stadium shouldn't have reacted how they did even though Adebayor was baiting them, they should have just flipped him the V's and been done with it, not start throwing things onto the pitch. The celebration? If he scored in front of them and did that it could possibly be justified. But he ran the length of the pitch after having already assaulted Robin van Persie. I am not saying what the Arsenal fans did was right, it wasn't, but Adebayor brought the reaction on by himself. 5 game ban for the "challenge" and another 3 for the celebration might help him keep his "emotions" in check when they go to The Emirates. The celebration? The celerbration was faintly ridiculous but if that's how your going to react as a fan well that's just as bad. You'd think football fans in this country were getting better but that was not a great reaction, especially after what happened at West Ham recently.
He totally deserves a big ban for the stamp, the first time you see it, it looks fairly harmless but then watching it back he's actually looking down as he does it and you can see him specifically push his foot towards Van Persie. Horrible, as someone said, that could have been an eye and that would have been game over for VP.

A moment of madness from Adebayor, no doubt he will receive a fine/ban etc, but THIS was deliberate:-

I totally agree that the stamp was deliberate and nasty, and should incur a suitable punishment.
However, RVP is not blameless either, sliding in, studs up, two footed. If Adebayor hadn't jumped, it could have been an ankle ligament snapper on him.
Both guys to blame.
Adebayor more so because he was 'successful' in making contact.

Just watched the Van Persie bit on Youtube.
What the hell was the ref doing? He was right there, how could he have not seen it?
If you watch the camera angle from the front, it's clear he did it deliberately. What the hell was the ref doing? He was right there, how could he have not seen it?
However, look at the rear angle (which is the ref's view) and it just looks like the foot is coming down normally and doesn't 'look' deliberate. This would explain why the ref didn't punish (his view angle didn't reveal the maliciousness).
