Thats what darts is about... seeing mardy Ted Hankeys face when he loses, and blames it on the crowd/pain/injury/lighting/dehydration (delete as appropriate)

Can someone explain why Phil Taylor (sp) is not playing?

I seem to recall that there are two darts organisations - but I don't know enough to explain to the wife!

Phil is PDC. This is BDO.

"The Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) is a professional darts organisation, established in the United Kingdom during 1992, when a group of leading professional players split from the officially-recognised British Darts Organisation. Barry Hearn, a long-time established sports promoter, is its current chairman."

Essentially the best players, arguably, broke away to become a more professional org i.e. more money. PDC (on Sky) is the premier league of darts. Generally the best players in the BDO migrate to the PDC.

Ignoring Phil Taylor, the freak, the two chaps in the final here are playing at a standard which would make them competitive in the PDC. The majority of the players in the BDO wouldn't be.
