Will there ever be another worthwhile sport invented ?

I'm not talking spin offs such as the Lingerie American Football, I mean a complete new proper, real sport.

I mean, every popular sport seems to have been around for decades, such as tennis, football, rugby and cricket.

How do you go about inventing a decent sport for players and spectators alike ?

What would your sport invention be ?

MMA seems to have sprung from nowhere in pretty short order.
Maybe it's just a progression from other sports such as boxing, karate, wrestling etc. but it's gained a big following pretty quickly.
