They won't be stricken off the records if they are put into admin, only if they are liquidated. If its administration then they will get a 9 point penalty and the rest of the league will carry on as normal.
A 9 point penalty is meaningless though as they are going to get relegated anyway. Will just mean that they won't bother trying for the rest of the season, making a mockery of their future results.TEKNOPUG said:

being a liverpool fan, my clubs current predicament with our american idiots in charge makes me shiver and seeing a PL club in the dock like this worries me.

Portsmouth FC needs to be liquidated. If the fan-base is still there, then a new club, such as "Pompey United" should be formed in the Blue Square or similar and should start again from scratch. If they can get a few thousand to each game then they'll soon be back in the League again, following the same, sustainable model as AFC Wimbledon, United FC etc.
What use is "there are a few parties interested in buying them"? Why are they interested? Because they are Pompey fans and they just want to save the club? Or they sense a quick buck? No one is going to invest the millions required to save Portsmouth without expecting to get a return on their investment. And how are they going to manage that? Precisely the same way as the previous 4 (FOUR!) owners have this season.

Of course, just way more likely to happen to a club which has been living beyond its means for a lengthy period.I wonder what the football fans would do if their team ceased to exist. I can imagine some confusion.
regardless of being a saints fan or not.
I'm a Man City fan, and yes I 'hate' Salford United, but do I want/hope they are liquidated? ...of course not ...if we lost our biggest rivals there would be no more 'Derby Week' banter and what's the fun in that?
(although Messrs Glazer & Co seem to have already set the auto-destruct switch with their £10m consultancy fees and their £900m + debts)

I'm certainly not a Saints fan.
I'd be devestated if my club folded; in the same way I would be if the company I work for folded (like the workers at Cadburys) but I don't think that there is any moral obligation for the "football family" to save Pompey. It's not like they just have a £25k tax bill, they owe £60m! They've been running on the never-never for seasons now.
