The good news is that Leighton Baines should get a shot who is a better player IMO thumbup

Only reservation about Baines is that he's totally untested at the highest level - that being Internationals or Champions League.

I just hope Ashley Cole gets fit because I don't see anyone with the quality we need.

How old is Stuart Pearce? biggrin

Cant beleive that JT hasn't spoke to WB since this broke. If their differences are not resolvable then fair enough. What JT did is unexcusable but WB wasn't with the bird at the time is my understanding so get over it and move on. Sure there are plenty of people in ph'ers work places who have slept around with collegues and the still get on.

WB must have a real axe to grind to give up representing his country. Dont think i'd walk out on my country just because an ex team-mate has had an affair with an ex bird, especially when you country needs you so much like now.

Cant see any real decent replacements. Gibbs is not good enough even if fit. Looks like its between Warnock and Baines behind, if fit Cashley...

Question is if its this bad playing together, what's it going to be like when they face each other this weekend?!

I think Capello may bring others, such as Warnock and/or Baines into the squad but i think Lescott will play there until Cole is fit.

Plus he's got height on his side compared to the likes of warnock or baines. Will be interesting to see who he picks that's for sure and/or how it all goes this weekend

I do feel for Bridge over this whole saga but surely his decision to witdraw is a ridiculous one? When he is older he will look back and realise he missed a chance to play for England, potentially in a World Cup in which England have a team which could at least mount a challenge. He has done nothing wrong himself, so he is going to let the actions of others ruin a huge part of his career. Seems especially ill-thought given the relatively short length that a professional footballer's career is.

Furthermore, as has alread been mentioned, he wasn't even with the bird when Terry slept with her! Obviously not justifying Terry's actions, and sure still tough for Bridge, but anyone with intelligence and maturity would surely hold their head high and get on with the job. He will have the support of millions and it would be the best revenge against Terry. How easy is it for Terry if Bridge doesn't even go to the World Cup!? Much easier than if Bridge got on with it and rose above it!

Unfortunately I think Wayne is lacking in the intelligence department, though being an English footballer it would be a serious buck in the trend if he wasn't!
