Why do both 5Live and Talksport only broadcast on MW/AM? Im surprised they have moved to a better medium considering the huge fanbase and constant interference and frequent overhead blackouts trying to listen to a game in the car. is it something to do with rights?
Is it possible to find a dedicated sports channel on FM or an Iphone application that broadcasts live games without this nuisance?

Thanks

Both are national radio stations, and there is insufficient FM frequencies available. They both transmit on DAB so much better quality is available.

If you have an Ipod/phone you could always get a Roberts 'Robi' - DAB/FM receiver/Remote Control. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Roberts-Digital-Radio-Remo...

I've used one when I go to football matches for the last few years, with no great problems. It uses the ipod power, so you may only get 3-4 hrs when using DAB

Pirates always seem to find an available FM slot, its mainly for the car and getting DAB is not really an option for the rust bucket unfortunately, so it looks like this Robi is the way to go, as im not restricted to the car, thanks for the tip.

Never tried using the IPod and 'Robi' whilst in the car so no idea what the reception is like.

If your looking for mainly in car use have a look at the Pure Highway PURE website or Amazon

Who is that scouse reporter, Alan Gray? So boring to listen to, very cynical and nothing positive to say, really spoils the game with his OTT negative approach to reporting, when you watch MOTD you discover it wasnt half as bad as he makes out.

You mean Alan Green, the commentator with the Northern Irish accent?

If so, yes I agree, he is miserable and negative at every opportunity.

Alan Green? 5live. *THE* best commentator on radio or TV.

Andy Gray? Sky Sports.

Neither of these are Scousers, reporters or work for Talksport.

MOTD edits out a large percentage of games.

Alan Green is the BEST commentator on Radio 5. It's a real pity he has no interest in TV commentating.

His commentary on the British rowing team's Gold Medal at the Sydney Olympics is up there with the greatest moments of sports commentaries.

Alan Green is a first class James Hunt.

However Talksport really does remove the Mcvities when it comes to tt presenters, Mike Parry being the prime candidate.
