Celtic sack Mowbray
Discussion
Ah well it had to happen, he was useless and even to the end he blamed everyone for Celtic being very poor this season. Do you think the Celtic fans will be harking back to the glory days of Gordon Strachan? Who is going to take the poisoned chalice now? I can't see any big name managers wanting to take it as it is a very poor league.
I'm a Hearts fan so I must admit I do like to see them struggle.

Agreed with OP. However, 'We' Celtic fans have been behind him for most of the season and let several disastrous results slip. 4-0 away to St. Mirren was a bad result too far. Even if we finished 2nd, I would have liked to see him continue onto next season and see what progression he would have made.. Last nights result killed the thought of that idea though.
Neil Lennon to succeed full time for me.

good news, glad it didnt pan out after he left the baggies.
It didn't really go that well for us (WBA) either. His whole dour demeanour did nothing to endear him to the fans or the media, and on the pitch he never had a plan B if plan A wasn't working. His post-match comments were sometimes bizarre to say the least. He did however make a few good signings - Graham Dorrans for £100k, now valued 2 years later at £6m (or £8m to Arsenal if you beleive all that's in the press) was one of the better ones.
There's a conundrum with an old firm managers job -you're in charge of one of the top 20 teams in the world and sttuck in one of the worst leagues.
Who wants to manage that? he has to know what it means to fans of celtic the world over and operate in the goldfish bowl of west of scotland football/sectarianism.
for me it has to be an ex celt or at least a scot. other than owen coyle i can't think of anyone. ex old firm players don't have a good record in old firm management -sorry neil.
my dream would be davie moyes but he's not leaving the greatest team in the best league just cos he was once a dodgy fullback at parkhead.

There was slight talk of lambart taking the job. But ruled himself out fairly early doors. Seen an interview with the editor of the celtic website and he said steve mcclarren. Not to bad a shout I think. Doing really well with twente, got Middlesburgh runners up in the UEFA cup. Was working under Alex Ferguson in 1999 when they won the treble. Yes he made a complete arse of england but we couldnt get him if he done brilliantly.
Also heard people wanting Croatia manager, Slaven Bilic. Would be good dont see it happening though.

I can't see McLaren being interested in the Celtic job as he is gaining a good reputation on the continent and there are rumours of him maybe heading to Ajax or one the German teams, I don't think either one of the Old Firm teams are an attractive proposition these days as there will only be one Champion's League spot soon. If Lennon does well I think he'll get it as he is cheap and a "Celtic" man. Our old boss Csaba Laslo has been mentioned but there is always David O'Leary who has been unemployed for a while and has big game experience.
