I don't know why, but I just really love this event.

Anyway, place your bets now for your prediction of the winners of the 2010 Boat Race...

I'll be getting the blue (on the turquoise side of blue admittedly hehe) blazer out on Saturday... Go Cambridge!

Cambridge here, although one of my lecturers at university was on the Oxford team so many times they had to create the Rankov Rule XD

I usually have more knowledge about this, but Cambridge have lost a couple of years in a row, so it's their turn to win now.

Might go and watch it live again...

Could they add a KERS system to the boats? So they could paddle around for half an hour before the race, building up a charge, and then kick in the extra power to get ahead for the Somerset Bend or whatever its called?

My prediction is that the Bricklayers will be rammed with drunk nobbers, meaning I can't have a nice, reasonably quiet pint of Golden Best.

The Tabs have been messing around with their crew. When they've done that this late in the day, they've lost. Oxford for the win.

There may well be other pubs, but they're not the Bricklayers, and they don't serve Timmy Taylors.

For me, that is sport. One match, one competition, one race after 365 days of preparation, 16 (well, 18) people battling against each other, 2 teams needing to be 100% synchronised, 100% committed. One man fails, they all fail. Such intensity, such focus, such sportsmanship.

A brilliant sporting spectacle whoever wins, doubly so that it was Cambridge this year thumbupwink
