The best coverage as usual on the BBC
Hendry is currently struggling against a guy who was not born when Hendry won his first World title.
I'm hpoing Ronnie has got his 'I'm going to win' head on this year......

I look forward to this every year and I think it'll be a cracking championship this year, a lot of players in very good form. I agree about Ronnie, he's unbeatable when in the right frame of mind and is capable of making players like John Higgins look like rank amateurs.

Hendry certainately let that get close before getting on with it.

Brilliant near the end though.

Why did you quote my post? Was it just in case nobody knew what you were replying to?

Ronnie on at 15.00 BBC2 this afternoon

Because I pressed quote rather than reply and didn't notice 'til I looked back in the thread.

As one of the commentators said it's very open this year, I'm backing for Mark Selby, seemed in good form in his opener.

For giving the ball the finger yesterday?

I don't know if hes in the right frame of mood at the moment.

I was watching some of Davis vs King on Red Button, that was getting good, Davis 6-4 down and when I turned off was 30 up on 6-6.

Steve Davis had a superb match last night and the final frame was epic and could become a classic frame.
Hard to believe I first saw him over 30 years ago and he had a 'boring tag' which he certainly isn't now. He is a lot more emo now whereas in the past he was Mr Cool even when things were not going well for him

They showed some of Alex Higgins and it is amazing how he pots a ball the way he moves on the shot.

Ronnie seems bored with the game and looked like he was playing shots with his left hand knowing that he might miss and give then it gives him a target to play for.
He looks for a 147 after he pots the first black too.

The sport would be better off without O'Sullivan. he keeps saying he's going to retire, I wish we would, total wker.

Davis is going well though, although he wont beat Higgins. I reckon it's going to be a great tournament, and also think Murphy is worth a bet at 12/1

I agree he's not your textbook snooker personality, but I think calling him a wker is a bit harsh. He is needed for the game IMO, adds a little excitement for the TV.

Ronnie is suffering from depression and if he leaves the game it will be a big loss as he is arguably the most naturally gifted player ever.

Steve has to get to the final to get back in the last 16 and that is dependant on another couple of higher ranking players losing.

I've always been a fan of Ronnie, whilst he struggles with consistency and is always far too self critical, when on form i can't think of any player i'd rather watch. The way he plays left handed almost as well as right is just incredible. I remember watching his fastest 147 on TV years ago when it happened and formed the opinion then that he's one of the greatest players ever to have picked up a cue. It's a shame he sometimes lets himself down with his actions yes, but the crowds that flock to see him can only be a good thing for the sport.

And yes - i'd love to see Davis get through.... Another of the greats.

I was impressed with Mark Allen today, looks like he's really on top of his game at the moment, can see him going all the way to the final to be honest. It's always such a shame when Ronnie's in one of his dark phases like he is at the moment because you never quite know what he's going to do next, a flawed genius.

I meant over the next few tournaments smile, I wonder how long he can keep up this form?
