Holloway at Blackpool has done remarkably well.

Got to be Hughton. Despite a disfunctional owner (to say the least), managed the squad perfectly (got rid of the highly-paid wasters, kept the grafters, bought in more grafters with little money to spend), won the title with games to spare and will (hopefully) break the 100 point mark.

A fine achievement with a club in such turmoil just a year ago, with a 6-0 nil (IIRC) loss to Leyton Orient in pre-season and widespread predictions of a bottom half finish.

He gets my unbiased ( wink ) vote for all the reasons above but mainly the dignity with which he handled himself and the 'egos' and his steadfast refusal to get carried away and give the media vultures anything to feast on.

Billy Davies of Forest gets a mention - taking a team who were fighting relegation last season to the playoffs this season with a great unbeaten run deserves a lot of credit.

Harry Redknapp for managing to never look happy. Ever. hehe

An outside choice - Pardew for Southampton. Taking a bankrupt club with minus ten points to 7th in the table just missing play-offs and winning the first silverware for the club in 30 years. An awesome transformation and the most enjoyable season for me following saints in 10 years.

Definitely worth an honourable mention.

My vote would hover between Woy and Steve McLaren. Both have done incredibly well with unfashionable teams & McLaren has made a fine come back from the England debacle (and of course the comedy Dutch accent biggrin).

pardew gets the most honorable mention.

hughton - are you joking? 75% of a prem gets promoted from championship? he'll last about a week in the job in the prem. active caretaker, but caretaker all the same.

blackpool have done brlliantly and play excellent football so holloway desrves a fantastic nod.

criteria should be established, i.e. is di matteo worthy given he has an excellent squad - west brom again play excellent footy, Brunt is a star of the future, but they are a big club.

but i think roy hodgson desreves it. a great guy, humble but professional. taking a relatively small club like fulham to a semi final place in europe (for all the arguments there were some terrific sides in the europa league).

Roy Hodgson for me, an excellent manager who goes about his business quietly and always has the utmost respect for the opposition. I find myself rooting for Fulham because I want to see them do well.

Chris Hughton, whilst doing a good job to stabilise Newcastle and getting them promoted, did so with a squad packed with Premiership players and players with international experience. He did a good job, but a good job with some expensive tools at his disposal.

+1. Transfer embargo only lifted after the latest transfer deadline, squad of 19 all season so with injuries and illness, we've frequently been unable to field anything resembling a complete subs bench. Players have had to play out of position all season. 27 points deducted in the past two seasons (17 last season and 10 the season before, which took us down to L2). He completed the job of getting us out of the mire last season, but that was only good enough for a mid-table finish if you discount the -17 deduction. Turned the same group of players into an automatic promotion team with two games to go, all at the age of 32 and done with humility and good grace (politely turning down an approach from doomed Peterborough).

I'll be at Dean Court on Saturday party
