Guys
There are a few posts on wembley parking already and i've already had some good suggestions, but seeing as the previous threads are quite inconclusive, i thought i'd throw this out to a wider audience.
Next Saturday - Championship play off final.
1. Do i drive down and park at a tube station in the outskirts, say Hounslow, pay a couple of quid for parking and a few more for the tube down to wembley?
2. Or do i pre book a wembley car park like this: http://www.csparking.com/stadium/Default.aspx and pay a bit more (£27.75)
The way i see it
1. Could be easier to leave the car further out, catch the tube and get back out again. But, catching the tube back could take a while and personally i think i'd rather be sat in my car in traffic than queueing for the tube.
2. Possibly big delays in london getting out and in and costs more, but safer place to leave it, only 5 mins from stadium and if others chip in may not work out that expensive....
Decisions, decisons.
From the other threads this seems mixed. Blackpool will generally be using the M1, whilst us lot will be on the M4, so its not like last year when both sets were going the same way.
All feedback greatly appreciated!

I've always parked on the outskirts and tubed it in. Can take a while to get back to the Wembley Tube station after the game if you not out quick.
I plan on doing the same again next Saturday. NCP used to have an on-line facility to pre-book car parking spaces at some tube stations. Cost more than just turning up, but you had a space. They stopped doing this last year. So may have to find street parking.

I went to this seasons community shield. Drove right to the stadium no problems at all. We were quite early but wasnt bothered about that.

Cheers for the answers so far. Speaking to my brother who's been before and used the tube, its going to be down to waiting for the tube or waiting in the car.
He says a tube travel card is about £12 each plus the parking at the tube. Total amount for the car park is £27.75 so its a little cheaper between 4 of us. Getting there early also won't be a problem, so its all on whether its more secure leaving the car parked close to the stadium or quicker to go by tube??.

A ticket between Ickenham and wembley is £5.10 this is a zone 2-6 travel card. Parking all day on a Saturday is £1.
You are best off getting there a little early, you can stop at harrow on the hill for a pint and some grub beforehand.
Ickenham station is about 10 minutes from the base of the M40, so a nice fast exit is always possible.

Get the tube mate. I went twice last season & both times got a coach to a pub not far away for a few hours & then got the tube for the few stops to the ground when kick off approached. Walking out of Wembley Park station & seeing the arch is a memory I'll take to the grave with me. Then walking down Wembley Way with thousands of other fans, joining in songs & getting ripped off for souvenirs, all the while sucking up the atmosphere & feeling a huge adrenaline rush from the anticipation of what's about to happen...
Absolutely amazing

I use Rickmansworth station then tube into Wembley, 10-15 mins. Parking is £1 and it's 5 mins from the M25.
If you get a semi fast train (unlikely on a weekend). Otherwise change at Harrow. No chance of it taking only 10 mins.M1 J4 to Stanmore, park up in a residential road, walk to station and 3 stops on the Jubilee Line to Wembley Park.
If its your first time, then as Cupid says above, the atmosphere walking up Wembley Way is fantastic, so I would recomend the tube. However, expect a fair queue after the game, but does depend on a) how long after the final whistle you leave and b) where in the ground you are sitting. I have been seated 2 rows from the back at the half way line, way up in the gods, I swear I must have been the last person to leave the stadium and every other git is infront of me in the queue for Wembley Park.
You could go and find a pub after the game for a pint, and wait for the queue to die down at somewhere like this place
Enjoy the day, pitch aside, it is a fantastic stadium.

Great info, cheers guys!
Looks like we're sorted - Brother went to the semi & final in 08 and parked at Gerrards cross i think and then trained it to wembley from there. That along with Ickenham are two possibilities and both are not far from the M4 then too. Hopefully we can find a quiet place for a bite to eat and make it in and out ok.
Weather forecast looks like its going to be a scorcher! Hope the footy is as well and city get the result!

We're doing the same thing I think, parking in Uxbridge or somewhere around there and then tubing it to wembley via Harrow on the hill. Did the same thing for the Final, worked out pretty well.Looks like we're sorted - Brother went to the semi & final in 08 and parked at Gerrards cross i think and then trained it to wembley from there.
