I think he is a good manager!

Just look at the team he took to Istambul, look at all the "support" G&H have given him!

I will look back on the Rafa period with happy memeories.

im a life long liverpool man, and i can honestly say that i rank rafa alongside souness in the 'st manager' bin.

won the CL with an inherited squad, after that a net spend of 109m to build a second class squad. poor tactical decisions, random squad selection...need i go on?

Well I for one wish Rafa nothing but the best in the future. I'll certainly be keeping an eye on Inter for the next few years.

I'm amazed someone can deliver the kind of rubbish we saw in the last 18 months (tactics, transfers, stupid statements to the press), get sacked and then walk into a job managing the European champions !

Do you have a source for the £109 net spend?
And yes he won the CL with an inhertited squad (must have been his managerial skills then)!

Under Rafa, we were (for a period) Europe’s top-seeded club, our squad (IMHO) has been put together on a budget (we don't know for sure prices etc), but we are still sending 12 players to the world cup this year.

So not all that bad. How much was the team Rafa inherited worth? How much is the team he leaves behind worth?

For me, David Moores is/was the temporary blip in Liverpools history, not Rafa.

He'll be fine, what with that seven million pounds he just extorted out of your cash strapped football club Hornet wink

I agree with Craig, he is the worst manager I've ever experienced at Anfield. Ian St. John's latest comments in the Echo sum up what I feel about him.

You mean, around 40% of what he was alledgedly entitled to in his (admittedly poorly written!) contract?!

wink

But paying him in full would have meant he couldn't take another job for the next 4 years. Similar to Chelsea when they got rid of Ranieri ?

Would it? Surely then it should be some kind of sliding scale - ie we'll keep paying him if he remains out of work, t'otherwise he can do one?

If so my urine is simmering wink

I think all this Rafa bashing is bang out of order. He did nothing that others before him failed do either, over a period of about 20 years, such as delivering a Premier League title. biggrin

Hoping for Dalgleish now. biggrin
