"No, and you're sacked for asking, enjoy the game".

Thankfully I don't have any staff, or I wouldn't have any staff left.

OR

We can start at 6am and get off at 2.30pm

We can leave at 2.30 if we drop a tenner in a charity jar. Bargain! Quite a few are paying their tenner and nipping down to Wimbledon.

I'm forever having time off to watch Everton so I'm using this match as a way to get myself some leeway for when next season starts. I'm trying to make it sound like I'm grudgingly taking 1 for the team when really I don't give a flying fk about England at all

We are closing from 2.30pm. I can understand this as far as the fabricators and fitters are concerned, and any back of house staff. But we have a retail showroom that is also closing. If I were a potential customer and had arrived for a look around, I would be pretty miffed to find the place closed, especially if I didn't care much for the footy. I have work to do, and I want to do it, so I'm going to do it, and I'll take a half day another time at my convenience smile

My client has told everyone they can leave to watch the footy if they wish, so long as they make the time up by the end of next week, which seems very fair.

Will have it on in the office. Got to love working for a digital tv tech company at times...

Been informed by Mrs Zep that my daughter's school is 'letting the children go home early'.

I think we can safely assume the teachers are putting beer in the fridge as we speak.

My old bank just let us bring TVs in (they had to be checked by some HSE thing of course!) and then the City basically shut down during the England matches - by that I mean the financial aspects shut down - the pubs were doing a roaring trade.......

C ntery.

1st for watching football.

2nd for wanting the time off work. The clue is in the title.

I'm shutting at lunchtime. I want to go home and watch the game so it'd be unfair to expect my staff to work and miss the game.

Same here. Current client is a certain national broadcaster so it will be playing on the iMac on my desk.

We've been told we can clock off at 3PM, but we're not allowed to leave premises and have to instead watch the game in our tea room.

Seriously, What sort of Bullst is that? Why are we not allowed to spend our OWN time where we see fit!?

I'll be "working", but I'm not actually going to do any work out of sheer principal. I don't care THAT much for Football, but was really looking forward to spending an afternoon with the lads from work at the pub.

My wife works for a major bank ( not one of the one's we're all funding mind) and they're setting up a TV room for those who want to watch the game.

I don't have have a problem with peeps wanting to watch the footy. Brings the nation together and all that.

We have the option of going in early as long as we work our hours. If I can't get up early enough I'll just take a long lunch and make it up after the match

We have tied a company meeting to the football, so the management team will be delivering a company update from 1300 - 1400, followed by a BBQ for everyone for an hour & then the footie at 1500 on the big screen TV.

To be fair, we had a pretty torid start to the year (as have many smaller businesses), but the last couple of months have picked up reasonably well & everyone has been working their arses off, so it's just rewards.
