It's John Terry's one saving grace, at least he belts ours out (out of tune but I'll forgive him for that)

I think your thread title is spelt wrong...

It should read

"I don't like Ronaldo, anyone else want to agree with me so we can back slap and throw insults at him."

rofl

Ronaldo does seem to stand out as the only player that doesn't sing it. At least in the England squad there are three or four non-singers. If I was lucky enough to play sport for my country, I'd belt it out like Terry does.

Not defending him but is there an "alternative" national anthem of Madeira?? The Welsh and Scots sing different anthems at the rugby but technically god save the queen is their national anthem....

Please, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong but, isn't the Spannish national anthem the only one without any words?
(Thought about checking before posting, but I like to live dangerously!)

It's almost as if you could psychically communicate with clintonB's.

Just found this on about.com -

'In January 2008, new lyrics to the Spanish national anthem, La Marcha Real, were revealed. The Spanish national anthem had been lyric-less since the death of dictator General Franco in the 1970s. But when the Spanish Olympic Committee heard fans of the English soccer team Liverpool FC sing the club's anthem 'You'll Never Walk Alone', it was decided that Spain too should have lyrics to its national anthem. On this page you will find the English translation to the new lyrics'

Seems there wasn't, but there is now. I thought I heard the crowd singing something when it played.

Close but no Havanasmile

The words were abandoned pretty sharpish and the Spaniards are back to stern faces, humming, 'der der dar der - ing' or cheesy 70s songs.
I would imagine that the Catalans & Basques are happier with things as they stand.
