Football Training Camps

We have a friend over here who wants to send his 18 year old son to an English football traing "camp" for 6 weeks or so. Does anyone know if such a thing exists?

No idea, but he is wanting to send him the the UK, then on to Portugal to meet people at Benfica, for some reason.
Could also be a plan to get the kid out of town for 6 weeks though.

Are the David Beckham acadamies still going? I'm just slightly pessimistic that a UK camp will be of any benefit Hopefully someone more serious will be along shortly

He's 18? Not sure you get many football camps for 18s outside of ones run for those on the cusp of turning pro. How good is he? If he has provable talent then he should try hooking up with a club. If he's your average fat waster then I'm not sure you'll get much for an 18 year old, Villa's scheme tops out at 14, Chelsea's at 15, Man U do go up to 18 for their residential scheme: http://www.manutdsoccerschools.com/Courses/Residen...
