Guys,
I am after buying a 3 and a 5 and possibly rescue woods. Money isnt really an issue, that said i dont want to be buying the *best* as i am really just starting out, and when looking at clubs which have variations on shaft flex etc, i dont necessarily know which will be better for a beginner.

So as i say, any recommendations would be welcomed greatly!

thanks!

Look at the MD Superstrong range. They are cheap but are great value for money. The performance outweighs the cost. Can be picked up from the golf websites or there are quite a few sellers on ebay.

Your best off going down to your local golf shop/driving range and having a chat to one of the guys down there. They will likely ask you a load of questions e.g. general distances, shot shapes etc. to build a mental image of your golf.

They will then provide a number of demo clubs for you to try that are matched directly to the answers you give. You would do best to then try them all in order to see which one you prefer *the straightest not the longest is best*.

If you live anywhere is SW london/surrey area drop by the big range on the A3 near new malden, i work as a golf club fitter in there and can sort you out.

Its funny, i was there not too long ago at the driving range. That is the one next to a zoo or something right?? I am actually booked in to Ashford Manor golf club for a couple of pro lessons this week, so i will likely have my grip and my swing fixed up, and be ready to spend a few hundred pounds on clubs! haha

I'm no great golfer, and don't play that often. I only carry one (metal) wood, that being a Taylormade Burner Bubble 3 wood/fairway driver. Fantastic club from the tee or fairway.

A friend used exactly the same club. It gave him almost the same distance as his driver.

I had a lesson with the club pro yesterday and i am going to need lengthened clubs anyway, so i am scrapping this idea, and going to get a full set of custom cobras. mind you, it isnt going to be cheap!
